Open the file and understand the shape first

Start by browsing the schema and tables. A page-by-page table view is easier to reason about than immediately writing a mutation, especially when you are checking a file that came from another environment.

Use filters before a large query

Search across columns, add filters, and sort results to narrow the question. This is often faster and safer than exporting a database just to answer one small question about a record.

Review changes as SQL

When editing a row, stage the edit and read the generated SQL before applying it. DB Connect also offers a read-only mode when the right outcome is simply to inspect the data.

Keep reusable checks

Save the queries that answer recurring questions and return to them from the SQL console. When a query describes a status worth watching, it can be turned into a scheduled monitor with a notification rule.
